Remember the last time an opener got a standing ovation at the historic Greek Theatre? I do-- it was last night when L.A. native Wrabel finished his set. Wrabel is opening for Andy Grammer and Gavin Degraw on their co-headlining tour, and it is such a perfect fit.
Wrabel stylistically sounds a little bit like the love child of Coldplay's Chris Martin and Maroon 5's Adam Levine, yet his voice is completely uniquely Wrabel, emoting beautifully even at the highest heights of his impressive vocal range.
Coming from Nashville, the most important element of any song to me is the songwriting. And this is Wrabel's main differentiator. He's not making empty pop tunes- the complexities in his writing make him utterly relatable in a way that can take years to achieve.
The crowd at the Greek Theatre agreed, screaming and clapping for so long between songs, Wrabel stopped and became visibly emotional. I don't know where you've been hiding, Wrabel, but the crowds are ready for you. Welcome home.
Listen to his new single, "11 Blocks" below and fall in love.
