The 2016 Teen Choice Awards kicked off last night at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., to an arena full of screaming and hysterical teens. All of the major players in the teen entertainment world were there, from Justin Timberlake to the Pretty Little Liars cast to the very popular Grayson and Ethan Dolan. We even spotted the famous multi-Michelin chef Gordon Ramsay and his beautiful daughters Tilly, Tana, and Holly.
The show kicked off with Flo Rida performing a medley of his biggest hits, which included "My House" and "Wild Ones," which Bebe Rexha joined him on. There was a sound issue, though, so viewers at home may not have gotten the full impact of Bebe's powerful voice. Upside: this is proof that some award shows still have live singing!
Speaking of singing, Charlie Puth is about as adorable as any human can get and he completely nailed his performance of his huge hit song, "We Don't Talk Anymore."
A couple of standout moments included the cast of Fuller House accepting the award for Choice Comedy TV show (who ever expected to see that cast on stage together again??) and the roar of the crowd when Grayson and Ethan won Choice Web Star. Also important to note: Uncle Jesse hasn't aged since the early 90s.
Overall, it was an amazing night that truly feels centered around teens and their interests. I witnessed teen girls screaming and crying at their favorite web stars (something that wasn't even a thing when I was a teen), and it was really awesome to see the young stars take the time to pose for selfies, wave and acknowledge those who got them to where they are.
Well done, Teen Choice.
